Brand Media Group Head

We are seeking an experienced and confident professional to fill our Brand Media Group Head position (equivalent to what some agencies call a Media Director) with 10+ years of media planning/buying experience. Extensive knowledge of digital media is a must. Team management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective, forward-thinking media plans to support client campaigns and brands
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of multiple clients’ businesses and their competitors to produce valuable information and insights to deliver on objectives
  • Proactively seek, review, and develop new and innovative media solutions
  • Prepare and present recommendations internally and to clients
  • Evaluate media proposals to shape client recommendations 
  • Help maintain in-flight media campaigns to ensure strategic integrity
  • Perform pre-, mid-, and post-campaign analysis to drive informed decisions for planning and buying
  • Write and review media documents (timelines, points of view, proposals, plans, client memos, reporting/statistics decks, etc.)
  • Supervise a team of media planners/buyers to ensure projects stay on timeline and within budget while achieving maximum results for clients
  • Help train junior members of the team on the use of tools, approach to communications planning, and other miscellaneous job duties
  • Participation in agency task forces that drive the direction and expertise of the media group as a whole
  • Build and maintain knowledge of market assignments (stations, market nuances relative to ratings, station strengths and weaknesses, etc.) to produce valuable information and insights to deliver on objectives
  • Deliver buys that are on goal (budgets, TRPs, dayparts, impressions, conversions, etc.)
  • Proactively seek, review, and develop new and innovative media solutions
  • Manage client media budgets and monthly billing, including invoice reconciliation
  • Responsible for supervising trafficking broadcast, print, outdoor, and digital creative on media-only accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of local, regional and national media vendors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 or more years of media-related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Expertise in planning and buying all forms of media including broadcast, print, out-of-home, and all digital advertising forms – search, social, display, addressable, cross-platform, etc.
  • Experience with media planning tools (Mediaocean/Spectra or Strata, MediaTools, Kantar, Telmar, comScore, Sizmek)
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects through effective levels of organization and delegation to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical abilities
